The Institute of Fluid-Flow Machinery of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Gdańsk has been awarded the highest A+ category in the discipline of mechanical engineering, following the evaluation of the quality of scientific activity for the period 2017–2021. The assessment was based on three criteria: the scientific level, the financial effects of the research and development work, and the influence of the scientific activity on society and the economy. The A+ category was awarded for the period 2022–2025 and will remain in effect until the next evaluation of scientific activities is conducted.

The award of the highest scientific category confirms the exceptional quality of scientific research and development work conducted at the Institute of Fluid-Flow Machinery of the Polish Academy of Sciences, as well as the commitment of its staff to solving contemporary socio-economic problems. The A+ category obtained in the field of mechanical engineering confirms the Institute's position among the leading institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences in the country and the international significance of its scientific achievements.
