Turbulence modelling using various turbulent Prandtl number models
DARIUSZ P. MIKIELEWICZ, EUGENIUSZ IHNATOWICZ

Abstract

The present work reports the study where the influence of various turbulent Prandtl number models was examined in the light of the models of turbulence response to its variation. Two turbulence models have been examined, namely the mixing legth model and Launder and Sharma two-equation low Reynold number k∼ε model. The response of turbulence model have been tested under fullly developed constant property forced convection. Simulations have been compared with the Kurganov-Petukhov and Dittus-Boelter correlations. The main outcome of the work  is that inclusion of variable turbulent Prandtl number model does not improve the agreement achieved aerlier.
