Abstract
The interaction of vortices with small flat plates placed on their way has been studied experimentally in the air stream. The effects of the vortex destabilisation were examincd with the aid of the Fourier transformation applied to velocity signals recorded downstream of the plates. The exmined interaction most often led to the suppression of the velocity signals resulting from the destabilisation of vortex cores. Apart from that, for some plate locations significant amplification of the velocity fluctuation was recorded, due to the generation of strong secondary vortices.
