MIROSŁAW DORS, JERZY MIZERACZYK, GENRIETTA V. NICHIPOR

Abstract

In the paper analysis of chemical reaction in a mixture of N2 (70%), O2 (5%), CO2 (15%), H2O (10%), NO (400 ppm), simulating flue gas, subjected to a nonthermal piasma generated by a continuous :.ectron beam or to a pulsed positive corona discharge is presented, A special attention was put on reactions responsible for conversions of NO, NO2 and N2O. A method of modelling of chemical reactions kinetics in the nonthermal plasma in the flue gas simulator is presented as weli. It is shown in the paper that processes of NOx removal from flue gas in the nonthermai plasma generated by the e-beam or the corona discharge are similar, i.e. removal of NOx is based on oxidizing reactions of NO and NO2 with OH :"Cicals. However, there are some significant differences in the chemical kinetics of the e-beam plasma and the corona discharge plasma, in particular, in the chemicai kinetic of ions and production of radicals e.g. OH radicals).

Keywords:

oxidizing reactions of NO, chemicai kinetic of ions
