Abstract
Influence of Design Solutions and Execution of Water Turbines on their Operating Disposability
A thesis is advanced to the effect that all proceedings undertaken when constructing a water-power plant - beginning from the design - should aim at one goal, namely: to obtain immediately after putting the power plant into service the assumed operating parameters at the maximum disposability oi the turbine sets installed.
The part which the water-power plants play in the national power network is presented next. The concepts of the operating disposability of a power plant and its equipment are described. Requirements to be met by modern water turbines are systematized.
Experience gained during the operation of three water-power plants recently built in this country served for pointing out the influence of an improper design of turbine sets and use of inadequate materials on the decrease of the operating disposability of these power plants.
