Abstract

The concept of large Skoda-steam turbines is based upon a limited number of standardized individual parts of multicasing turbines. Hence, they are applicable in a wide extent as condensing or special turbinęs e.g. turbines for district heating plants. The standardized design of the reheat turbines consists of 3 basic types of the high-pressure section and 3 basic types of the intermediate-pressure section. These typical parts are joined together with the double-flow low-pressuie sections differing, first of all, by the length of the stage blade.

The first of eight ordered 22O MW saturated steam turbines for nuclear power stations with light water reactots is now under manufacturing. It is possible to built the saturated steam turbine rated at 3000 rpm with the output of above 500 Mw for the czechoslovakian weather conditions where the tower cooling is used and the cooling water temperature ranges at 20...25oC. The 500 MW saturated steam turbine consists of a high-pressure part for the admission pressure of 60 atm and two double-flow low pressure parts with steel blades of 1050 mm length.
