Abstract
The steady increasing scatter in the loading diagrams observed in economically developed countries requires highly-flexible power-sets put into power-systems. To meet the rapidly increasing peak and half-peak loading the possibilities of improving the flexibitity of large steam turbo-sets as well as the application of gas turbo-sets are considered. Such possibilities exist in a wide extent in forcing the steam turbo-sets due to passing the regeneration tap steam through the turbine cylinders. Then the feed water is heated in a special boiler.
It has bęen shown that it is reasonable to cut out only the high-pressure regenerative heaters. In this case an additional output of 7.5 to 15 % is achieved depending upon parameters and type of a steam turbo-set. The efficiency remains on the level of modern gas turbo-sets.
An essential improvement in parameters of the disposed power generation is expected in a specialized, combined plant consisting of a steam turbo-set working with a cut-out regeneration system and a gas turbo, set, exhaust gases of which are utilized to heat the feed water to the nominal temperature. Such a plant can give a large output due to the gas turbo-set and forcing of the steam set as well.
