Instrument for Measuring Diameter and Number of Water Droplets in Steam
MIROSLAW NAVRATIL

Abstract

Opto-electrical device used to measure the diameter and quantity of water droplets in wet vapor was constructed in 1973. This device uses a non-contact method of photometric measurement. If the center layer, transparent to light waves, containing optically uniform particles diffusing passed monochromatic light wave, the wave is suppressed by the particles; attenuation is a function of the diameter and number of particles. The device is currently undergoing trials. The device is currently undergoing trials. The article gives the theory of operation of the instrument and the results of tests work.
