Spontaneous Condensation in High-Pressure Expanding Steam
DENIS J. RYLEY, KEITH A. TUBMAN

Abstract

De Laval type nozzle was designed for expanding the vapor with pressure ratio of about 7: 1 and at the following compress parameters: the maximum pressure of 70 bar, the maximum temperature of 320oC.  The nozzle had a rectangular cross section. Placed in the movable element ensures unifconstant orm rate of expansion: P=-(1/p)(dp/dt) equal 10s-1 in place of supersonic flow (condensation). A stationary probe for measuring the static pressure was placed in the upper wall of the nozzle. Boro-silica window glass  contained in the walls allow observation of the flow at this location.

A stationary probe for measuring the static pressure was placed in the upper wall of the nozzle. Boro-silica window glass contained in the walls allow observation of the flow at this location.
