Abstract
An experimental study of dependence of the ion current collected by a cylindrical probe on the collisional effects is discribed. The main achievement is a direct evidence that the ion current in the orbital motion limit (OML) regime does not decrease monotonically with growing pressure, this being contrary to the recent theoretical predictions.
