Abstract
The paper presents an analysis of the heat transfer to a three-phase coal slurry flow. This highly complex problem is simplified by adopting the homogeneous and separated flow models as used mainly in two-phase flow. The analysis indicates that the homogeneous flow model is more adequate in this case. This is valid both for Newtonian and non-Newtonian behaviour of the coal slurry.
