Novel Simplified Designs of Water Turbines and Results of Their Investigations [in Polish]

Abstract

The Water Turbine and Division of the Technical University of Gdańsk has investigated for two years the problem of optimum design of a series of types of water turbines characterized by minimunr number of specific speeds and such arrangement of the turbine rotor diameters which will allow for covering all demands arising in connection with the building of power plants on small and medium water courses in Poland.

Details of some new, simplified designs of water turbines, adapted to meet these requirements, are discussed together with results of model investigations and characteristic operational features of the turbines under consideration.
