Furthermore, a systernatic research in the field covered by the widespreading name of ,,Numerical Fluid Mechanics" has been initiated with an outlook for further development in a separate organizational structure.

The characteristic feature of the Department research problems in the period covered by this report consisted in strongęr then before trends to tie closely own research programmes with the needs of national economy. 

These trends were expressed in initiating and co-ordinating complex works remaining in the field of direct demand of the industry as for instance computerized methods of turbines and heat cycles design or the set of works connected with designing transonic stages of axial compressors.
