Gas-Liquid Mass Transfer in Column with Cocurrent Swirl Trays

Abstract

A variety of operations involving mass transfer with gas-liquid systems can be carried out in columns with cocurrent trays, but additional data are needed to develop more reliable design methods. The results of the experimental investigations of mass transfer in column with cocurrent swirl trays are presented in this paper. High values of gas and liquid side mass transfer coefficients were obtained and were successfully correlated in terms of Sherwood, Schmidt and Reynolds numbers and dimensionless geometric characteristic of voltex generator.
