Abstract
Turbulent deposition of droplets from two-phase dispersed flow onto the smooth wall of a vertical tube has been studied. A model is proposed which takes into account the difference between particle and eddy diffusivieties, as well as the stochastic nature of the phenomenon. The theory is tested against the data which cover a wide range of droplet size and Reynolds number. A quite satisfactory agreement has been found in all examined cases.
