The location of this year PKH HYDROFORUM event follows from numerous considerations – cultural and scientific traditions of Cracow, excellent logistics, proximity to a number of hydropower installations, achievements in the field of recovery of hydraulic energy in water supply networks. Traditional-ly, the event will provide a platform for exchange of information, experience and opinions on various topics related to hydropower. We will pay attention to its strategic role in the electrical power system and water management of the country, development plans, legal and environmental aspects, numerous technical and scientific issues. The annual HYDROFORUM conferences are the largest hydropower events in in our country and one of the most significant events of this kind in our part of Europe. The events are organised jointly by the Polish Hydropower Association, the Szewalski Institute of Fluid-Flow Machinery of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Polish Association for Small Hydropower Development usually collaborating with a local organiser – if possible a university or some other research institution. This year the local organiser is the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering. The HYDROFORUM 2024 conference will be held on October 16-17 at the four-star Premier Kraków hotel in the Prądnik district. An important part of the entire event will be a study tour to the hydraulic energy recovery facilities of the Krakow Waterworks, as well as to the Świnna Poręba Dam and Hydroelectric Power Plant. The tour has been planned for October 18 this year.
