Department of Turbine Dynamics and Diagnostics

The Department of Turbine Dynamics and Diagnostics carries out scientific research activities that focus on the modelling, analysis and experimental testing of various types of rotating machines, with particular emphasis on the dynamic phenomena occurring in the rotor-bearing system. Our main areas of interest include:

  • Rotor dynamics
  • Diagnostics of machines
  • Bearing systems
  • Microturbines
  • Rapid prototyping
  • Energy generation technologies based on renewable and nonrenewable resources

Former names and heads of the department:

  • Department of Machine Components (1956-1971) – Prof. Tadeusz Gerlach
  • Department of Mechanics of Friction and Lubrication (1971-1998) – Prof. Tadeusz Gerlach / Prof. Jan Kiciński
  • Department of Rotor Dynamics and Slide Bearings (1998-2014) – Prof. Jan Kiciński
