Graduated in 1973 in shipbuilding  (specialty: marine power plant exploitation) from Technical University of Gdańsk. He received his Ph.D. in 1987 in mechanics (specialty: dynamics of unsteady flows) and D.Sc. in 2005 in mechanics from Institute of Fluid Flow Machinery, Polish Academy of Sciences in Gdańsk.

He has been working at the Institute of Fluid Flow Machinery since 1976, currently as Associate Professor at the Centre of Fluid Thermomechanics. His main scientific interests focus on unsteady phenomena in turbomachines, vortex interactions in bounded and unbounded regions, and renewable energy sources, especially wind power turbines. He published about 50 papers in worldwide scientific journals and conference proceedings and presented at about 30 scientific conferences worldwide. He also co-authored nearly 60 works for industrial customers.
