Born in 1963 in Olsztyn. He graduated in 1986 in technical physics (specialty solid state physics) from the Faculty of Technical Physics and Applied Mathematics, Technical University of Gdańsk. He received his Ph.D. in 1995 in mechanics (specialty fluid mechanics) from the Institute of Fluid Flow Machinery, Polish Academy of Sciences in Gdańsk. He received his D.Sc. in 2008 in mechanical engineering (specialty turbomachinery) from the Institute of Fluid Flow Machinery, Polish Academy of Sciences in Gdańsk.

His main professional interests include:

• scientific problems of conventional power energy, eco-energy and cogeneration,
• turbomachinery, especially axial flow turbines,
• computational methods In fluid mechanics,
• numerical modelling of gas flow and heat transfer in turbomachinery,
• efficiency optimisation of turbine blading systems,
• partial admission and variable load turbines.

He published over 100 papers in worldwide scientific journals and conference proceedings, presented at over 60 scientific conferences, co-authored over 40 reports and collaborations for industrial customers. He headed a number of grants from KBN / MNiSzW. He is a Member of ASME, IGTI Committee, Polish Society of Computer Simulations, Subsection of Numerical Fluid Mechanics (PAN).
