Presently performed research of the Department of Air and Water Cleaning concern applications of electric al discharges in water (so called, electrohydraulic discharges) to destruction of organic contaminants and to disinfection. The Department stuff has also experience in removal of nitrogen oxides, volatile organic compounds from air and exhausts and in production of ozone. Additionally, studies of oil slicks destruction on sea water in harbours using plasma are in progress.
