    Ms Magdalena Mieloszyk studied at the Gdansk University of Technology in years 2001-2006. In 2006 she obtained M.Sc. degree from the Department of Mechanical Engineering in the Mechanics and Machine Building with a specialisation in Construction Materials Engineering. In 2006 she started working at the Szewalski Institute of Fluid-Flow Machinery in the Department of Mechanics of Intelligent Structures. She obtained a Ph.D. degree (2011) and D.Sc. degree (2019) in Mechanics from the same Institute.

    Her scientific interests are mostly focused on:

    • structural health monitoring and non-destructive testing methods;
    • fibre optic sensors (especially fibre Bragg grating sensors) application for structural health monitoring of metallic (e.g. offshore wind turbine support structure, sailing ship mast) and composite (e.g. fast patrol boat) structures;
    • THz spectroscopy for mechanical and physico-chemical damage detection, localisation, determination of its size and type;
    • infrared thermography for damage detection and localisation;
    • signal processing algorithms for damage detection, localisation, determination of its size and type;
    • additive manufacturing (polymers and fibre reinforced composites).
