It is an organisational unit that reports directly to the Deputy Director for Scientific Affairs.

The library collects and provides access to scientific publications in the fields of design, diagnostics and operation of turbomachines (especially turbines), mechanics of machines and structures, fluid and solid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat and mass transfer, laser and plasma technology, physics and applied mathematics, numerical computational methods and renewable energy sources. The library collection includes more than 22,000 books and 8,500 volumes of journals. The library also conducts interlibrary loans.
