Nowa Karczma
The Nowa Karczma commune is a rural commune located in the Kashubian Lake District, composed of 17 villages.The number of inhabitants is 7 000 people . The area of the commune is 113,4 km2. The dominant form of land use is arable
lands occupying 7 800 ha (69% of the area). A characteristic feature is a varied terrain with numerous lakes. Part of the area of
the Nowa Karczma commune is subject to special protection due to natural conditions. The share of areas covered by various forms of
nature conservation in relation to the total area of the commune is 18,4. Until now, the Commune has successfully completed about 40 projects
concerning, among others, local social infrastructure and civic initiatives, basic services for the economy and rural population, rural re-newal
and development, water and sewage management, energy effi-ciency improvement and others. Nowa Karczma commune took 8th place
in obtaining funds from the UE, in the "Rzeczpospolita" ranking.
