Abstract
The paper describes the trend toward increasing the efficiency of steam power cycles, and on this line a novel steam power cycle for high evidently supercritical initial steam conditions with consistent application of feed water heating beyond the saturation temperature corresponding with the steam pressure at the first bleed from the turbine. Owing to this cycle, efficiencies higher than those of conventional cycles working at the same temperature limits can be achieved. Subsequently some characteristic features of the new cycle are briefly discussed.
