Abstract
The investigation of the hydraulic and mechanic transients occurring in a pump system after suddenly cutting out the driver of the impeller pump has been presented. The relations characterizing the dynamic and static properties of the system have been given (Eqs. (1) - (8) and hereafter, to generalize the investigation results, they have been presented in a dimensionless form (Eqs, (10) - (12). It has been assumed that the transients of the angular speed of the pump run so slowly that the elasticity of the piping system can be neglected.
