In response to the increasing demand for new hydrogen production technologies, we developed a method of methane reforming with the use of microwave plasma generated at atmospheric pressure with high methane flow rate (up to 200 l/min). Due to the application of high flow rate of methane and improved construction of microwave plasma generator (MPG), the energetic parameters of hydrogen production in our device are better than the values achieved in catalytic conventional methods. This makes our generator more attractive for use in systems for distributed hydrogen production. Another advantage of our method, is zero-emissions of harmfull oxides (e.g., CO2, CO, NO2, NO) due to the fact that we do not use oxygen in the process.
