The Final conference of the European WASTEMAN program has ended. We encourage you to read the lectures and presentations.

One of the most important annual events on Bornholm is the People’s Democracy Festival (called "Folkemødet"), which was back in full force in 2022 after being affected by COVID-19 in the previous years.

"Current situation and trends in waste management". This conference took place on May 31, 2022 in Tłokinia Kościelna near Kalisz and was organized by the Employers Union of the Council of Regional Waste Processing Installations (RIPOK) in Kalisz

The Congress during Section 4 "Technologies for the circular economy" raised many issues of interest to us, such as "BioRen - second-generation biofuels from municipal solid waste ", "Bioproducts from plant biomass from marginal lands ...".

The Municipatity of Nowa Karczma organized an ecological competition called "Garbage monster". Recyclable materials (e.g. cardboard boxes, plastic bottles, waste paper, plastic bags, cans, screw caps) should be used to perform the competition work.

On October 20, 2021 in Lubań was held an ecological picnic was held to increase awareness of municipal waste management, including reducing the amount of waste generated and the principles of its proper segregation

BOFA has recently started an educational activity with one of the kindergarten schools on Bornholm.

We conduct further research on the use of effective microorganisms (EM) for the efficient decomposition of organic waste. We are waiting for bacteria to do their job and collecting samples for analysis in the meantime.

On October 14, 2020, an innovative ecological path was officially opened in Lubań. Ecological path was created as part of the WASTEMAN project. The path is an element of the development of the public space of the modernized rural area - a place of rest and recreation for residents.

This Forum was held on September 22-23, 2020 and related to the use of circular economy and waste biomass for energy generation through the application of biogas and other alternative fuels, especially when integrated with co-generation systems.

On 20th Feb. we had meeting in Municipal Waste Processing Facility - Eko Dolina. The purpose of the IMP employees' visit at the Eko Dolina facility was to test the effectiveness of microorganisms (EM) on the compost pile from biodegradable waste.
