Abstract

p>Results of investigations of the balance disc operation in a four-stage medium-pressure pump are reported. The investigations, covering the entire pump performance curve range, were carried out for two values of the axial force (high, low) and two sets of balance disk (new, worn out). Experimental relations between the pressure difference, flow and gap size are compared with results of calculations accordring to known formulae. Concluding remarks are presented.
